A New Hope Academy Event Policies and Terms
These policies apply to all trainings, conferences, and educational events hosted by A New Hope Academy, unless otherwise specified at registration. By registering for any A New Hope Academy event, participants acknowledge that they have read, understand, and agree to the following terms.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
A New Hope Academy maintains consistent cancellation and refund policies to ensure fairness to participants while honoring financial commitments made in advance for venues, speakers, materials, and administrative costs.
General Trainings & Workshops (Live and In-Person)
Due to venue contracts, speaker commitments, and non-refundable expenses incurred in advance:

Cancellations 30 days or more prior to the event are eligible for a refund minus a $50 administrative fee.

Cancellations made 29-22 days prior to the event are eligible for a 50% refund.

Cancellations made 21 days or fewer prior to the event are non-refundable.

Registration fees may be transferred to another individual for the same event with written notice prior to the event start date.
Refund and cancellation deadlines will not be waived for travel disruptions, scheduling conflicts, or personal circumstances. By registering, attendees acknowledge that A New Hope Academy makes financial commitments approximately three weeks prior to the events, and agree to these terms.
Play Academy

All Play Academy registrations are non-refundable once payment is submitted.

Enrollment represents a commitment to a structure educational program with limited cohort capacity.

No refunds, credits, or transfers will be issued.
Play Therapy: Disney Bound Conference

Conference deposits and registration fees are non-refundable upon payment.

Deposits secure limited-capacity access and applied toward fixed conference expenses.

Registrations may be transferred to another individual with prior approval.
Illness & Emergency Circumstances
If a participant is unable to attend an event due to acute illness or emergency, they are encouraged to notify A New Hope Academy as soon as possible.
While registration fees are non-refundable, A New Hope Academy may, at its sole discretion, offer a limited registration credit toward a future Academy training when illness or emergency prevents safe participation.
Credits, if offered:

Are issued at the discretion of A New Hope Academy

Are non-transferable

Must be used within twelve (12) months of issuance

Are not guaranteed
Due to advance contractual and vendor obligations, credits are not available for the SITH Conference or the Play Therapy: Disney Bound Conference.
Event Cancellation by A New Hope Academy
If A New Hope Academy must cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances:

Registration fees will be refunded in full.

A New Hope Academy does not assume responsibility for travel, lodging, or other related expenses incurred by attendees.
Continuing Education (CE) Policies
As CE Providers for the Association of Play Therapy (APT) and the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC):

Partial CEs are not offered.

Full attendance is required to receive a CE certificate.

For live virtual trainings:

Cameras must remain on except during scheduled breaks.

Participants must remain present and engaged.
-
Absences exceeding 10 minutes without communication may result in removal and loss of CE eligibility.

Reasonable accommodations may be requested in advance.
Attendance and participation are monitored in accordance with provider standards.
Grievance Policy
A New Hope Academy is committed to inclusive, ethical, and non-discriminatory learning environments.
Concerns regarding faculty, speakers, content, or participant conduct should be reported promptly to:

All grievances will be reviewed in alignment with ethical and professional standards.
Health & Safety
A New Hope Academy follows all applicable local, state, and venue health guidelines.

Attendees who are ill or test positive for contagious conditions (including COVID-19 or flu) should not attend in person.

Masks are welcome and encouraged for those who prefer or need them.

Hand sanitizing stations will be available.
Health-related attendance concerns are addressed in the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability
Attendance at in-person events involves inherent risks, including potential exposure to illness.
By attending any A New Hope Academy event, participants voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation and agree to release, waive, and hold harmless A New Hope Academy, its board members, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, and affiliates from liability to the fullest extent permitted by law, including but not limited to risks related to communicable illness such as COVID-19.
Participants acknowledge personal responsibility for their health, safety, and actions while attending Academy events.
