Wicked: The Shadow and Magic of Jungian Play Therapy

Wicked: The Shadow and Magic of Jungian Play Therapy invites play therapists into a rich, imaginative exploration of how Jungian concepts come alive in the playroom. This presentation blends the transformative themes of Wicked: identity, shadow, integration, and the tension between who we are told to be and who we truly are, with the symbolic, depth-oriented approach of Jungian Play Therapy.

Participants will learn how Jungian Play Therapy provides a developmentally attuned pathway for children to encounter, express, and integrate shadow material in safe, symbolic ways.

Through experiential play therapy activities, case examples, and guided reflection, attendees will deepen their understanding of archetypes, the persona and shadow, the temenos, and the healing function of imagination.

This training will illustrate how Jungian Play Therapy supports children in reclaiming disowned strengths, transforming “wickedness” into wholeness, and discovering the magic inherent in their own inner worlds.
